About our company

Allen & Son has been part of Moreton-in-Marsh for nearly a century, with three generations of the Allen family serving the community and providing funeral services with dignity and respect. Founded by the Allen family in 1928, the business is built on trust and commitment to the community. Having previously been employees, in June 2022, Diane and James Drury took over ownership of the business, ensuring its legacy of care continues. Living only a few minutes away from the premises, they are always close by to offer care and support to families, when needed.

Though Peter and Veronica Allen have retired, they remain closely connected to the business. Peter is pleased to see Allen & Son run by a husband-and-wife team once again and continues to offer his help when requested. Diane and James bring years of experience in the funeral industry and a personal understanding of grief, ensuring every family receives the support and guidance they need.

HOW CAN WE MAKE THE FUNERAL SERVICE PERSONAL?
A funeral can be as unique as the person who has died. Picture displays and video tributes are examples of the several ways to portray and celebrate the life of a loved one.

WHAT DETERMINES THE COST OF A FUNERAL?
You and your family do. A funeral can be as extravagant or as simple as you desire. The type of service and other items selected determines the cost of a funeral. An estimate of costs based on items and services selected is provided to the family, and our general price list is provided for easy reference. A funeral does not have to be an extravagant display, as there are coffins and caskets available at all cost levels to fit the needs of every familv. Pre-planning and pre-paying for your funeral can help control costs. By making decisions ahead of time, you avoid having to make choices at a time when your emotions are heightened.

WHAT ABOUT PRE-PLANNING AND PRE-PAYING FOR A FUNERAL?
By planning and arranging a funeral in advance, you have the opportunity to discuss your wishes with your family. Having the details of a loved one's funeral or memorial service settled before death allows families to make informed decisions. Pre-paying for a funeral enables vou to set funds aside to cover the costs of the funeral arrangements. These expenses can be partially or fully funded through the legal establishment of funeral trusts or life insurance. These funds earn interest and are full transferable.

When my dad past away last year James & Di were the perfect pair in providing us with the compassionate care that we needed, you showed us endless amounts of empathy and compassion. James cared for my dad in the most dignified manner, he offered me & my mum genuine words of comfort. The support was endless, Di was in regular touch with us and along side Wendy my dad was given a funeral that was just perfect for him.
