Guidance and Support
A time of bereavement is one of the most distressing and sad times of many people’s lives.
Even though a death may be expected, it can still come as a huge shock and can bring with it great stress and worry, with many families having no idea of what happens next.
We are always just at the end of the phone to offer assistance and answer any questions or concerns you may have. Family members often say “it’s a silly question, but” and “sorry for asking again, but”. Please rest assured that there is no such thing as a silly question – if it is something concerning you, then please do ask us. We also completely understand that most people are struggling to take in what has happened, and dealing with the grief surrounding them, resulting in everything spinning around in their head, and not being able to take in all information. Please do ask as many times as needed – we would rather you ask than worry about something.
So, what happens when someone has died?
We have created a simple guide “What Happens Now”, which will give you all the details you need for the practical steps, immediately following your loved one’s death, whether at home, in hospital or a nursing home. This is attached below, for you to read through, and print, if wished.
You will also find a copy of our “Information brochure” on this page, which again, gives you details about what needs to happen following a death, but also things to think about for the funeral service, along with some price information.
Remember, we are here to care for and support you and your family.
